Projects
Jan 2019 — Now: Grad Pals Program — UCSD, I set up a buddy system for incoming graduate students, piloting the program with the Humanities Division first, to be expanded to the whole graduate student body in the future.
Jan 2019 — Now: Curator Campus Community Gallery — UCSD, I spearheaded a project to place student art into gallery spaces in the UCSD housing offices.
Dec 2019 — April 2019: Assistant Curator UCSD MFA Show at MCASD — UCSD, As assistant curator I helped create the catalogue text, gather artist information and facilitated communication between the museum and our cohort.
Dec 2018 — March 2019: PhD Symposium — UCSD, I organised a symposium on invisible spaces, this included recruiting speakers, organising panels and budgeting our funds.
Nov 2018 — Feb 2019: UC Campus Conference — UCSD, I recruited speakers for an inter University of California conference and also helped to make the conference more sustainable
April 2018: Art Historian for Live Studio Visit — RALSD, I gave a presentation in the form of a live studio visit in a local gallery in San Diego with local artist Vabianna Santos.

Jan 2019 — Now: Revelle College Writing Program Teaching Assistant — UCSD, I teach groups of 16 students literature using innovative teaching techniques.
Sept 2017 — June 2018: Visual Arts Department Teaching Assistant— UCSD, I taught a group of 30 students, helped them understand the weekly readings and graded their papers and exams.
July 2017 — Aug 2017: Camp Counsellor — Bucksmore, I taught students aged 14-17, business and journalism during an ESL summer camp.
April 2017 — Feb 2017: Language Teacher — Fullingua, I helped professionals improve their English and Dutch through weekly online conversations and personalised homework assignments.
April 2017 — May 2017: Communication Intern — Project Laniakea, Project Laniakea is a startup interested in space travel. As communication intern I wrote blogposts, managed multiple social media platforms and kept up to date with developments within the field.
Oct 2016 — Dec 2016: Private Tutor, I tutored two American students, aged 7 and 4 to ensure they would find it easier to return to the american school system after having lived in France.
Sept 2016 — Dec 2016: Lectrice — Université Paul Valéry, I taught English at a university in Montpellier, France to groups ranging from 10 to 50 people. In this job I developed both my organisational and public speaking skills.
August 2016: English Teacher — Roeland Language Camps, I taught English at a language summer camp, I taught the beginners aged 15-18. Every class would include speaking, reading and writing exercises adjusted to their level.
June 2016 — July 2016: Academic Publishing Intern — Open Book Publishers, I mainly proofread manuscripts both electronically and on paper, but also checked DOI’s, created Excel spreadsheets, used MovieMaker, did some DropBox troubleshooting, uploaded files to online databases like Youtube and archive.com, edited Wikipedia pages, updated metadata sheets, used Jshop Server, XHTML, Microsoft mail merge and InDesign, and researched and applied for numerous grants.
August 2015: English Teacher — Roeland Language Camps, I taught writing skills, proofreading the student’s writing exercises every day and giving constructive feedback. I also created worksheets specifically for their needs.
Oct 2014 — June 2015: Freelance Translator — ContactSkills, I translated and copy-edited web content and online examinations from Dutch to English for a call centre training company.
Volunteering
August 2018: Das Kunst — Volunteer, I organised art activities at a summer camp in Belgium to help kids who’s first language is not Flemish improve their language skills.
Oct 2016 — Dec 2016: Breakfast Server — ISSUE Soup Kitchen, I served breakfast to homeless people at a local soup kitchen.
March 2016 — June 2016: Volunteer English Teacher — English Works, English Works is a Brazilian teaching project which gives students the chance to speak with native English speakers. Using Skype I conducted regular conversations with the students, noting their progress in an Excel sheet.
Jan 2015 – June 2015 ESOL: Tutor for Refugees — RHUL, I designed and taught classes related to personal and career development. Organised materials appropriate for the age group and collaborated with the other teachers, breaking up the class according to competency.
June 2015: Front House Volunteer — Royal Holloway Picture Gallery, During a month long special exhibition, I welcomed guests, introduced the exhibition, and organised arts and crafts for children attending the Magna Carta Festival.
